The Grand Majestic Sichuan crystallises the extravagance of late 70s Hong Kong: fuelled by explosive economic growth, brushed with international glamour, and languidly observing the setting sun of colonial rule. The throughline: the intensity of Sichuan cuisine is enough to secure its seat at the very high end of town.
