Victor Churchill is an influential project that is likely to be a catalyst for change in the direction of retail design in Australia. The designers have taken risks and bravely experimented with program, material and customer experience. The interior speaks to all the senses and has an educational function, as it reveals the process of butchery. It should be acknowledged that this interior presents a momentous challenge to the increasing depersonalization of retailing and the separation of processing from purchase.
